Mancini Park is situated in the rapidly growing community of Chapman Mills in Barrhaven, Ottawa. The site is bounded by residential properties, two schools, and an existing mature woodlot. In consultation with the local community, designers sought to create an actively used neighbourhood park with tennis courts, play equipment, splash pad, walking trail, and fitness equipment. The park pathways connect desire lines across the park, while also extending into the existing woodlot to include a series of fitness stations for various levels of user abilities. The natural timber play equipment draws from the forest theme and provides more challenging play for junior park users while traditional play features such as a slide and playhouse delight the younger children. A custom splash pad is the central focus of the park, providing an exciting space for all age groups to play year-round.

The success of this park lies in its integration of diverse park elements according to a layout that encourages interaction and play across different age groups in a safe and exciting environment.
