Part of the Zibi development in Gatineau, Quebec, Wàsa Zibi Plaza features panoramic views of the Ottawa River as well as views across the river to Chaudière Island, Chaudière Falls, Union Bridge, and Parliament. Included in the design is an at-grade fountain with button-activated jets and colour-changing lights, both of which can be programmed for events. On either side of the space, proposed patios spill into the plaza, fostering day-to-day active use as well as allowing for programming such as markets, weddings, and music or food festivals.

The design of the plaza and layout of the fountain, paving patterns, and benches are inspired by logs moving down the river – serving as a tribute to the site’s industrial past. A grand staircase leads visitors from the plaza down to the water, the future site of Tesasini Park and the National Capital Commission’s (NCC) Voyager Pathway extending along the north side of the Ottawa River.
